General Process

Your fiancé will need to have her medical examination in Moscow.

Travel to Moscow from any Russian city was possible in the past by AEROFLOT. After the break up of the Soviet Union, Aeroflot was split into dozens of different airlines. Many of them are not known outside of the country or even the city where they based. The airline called Aeroflot Russian Airlines today, is primarily the international portion of the old Aeroflot. We will be able to book and pay for tickets on most airlines from most cities.

Travel Arrangements

You will be expected to pay for a one-way trip to Moscow. However, a sizeable number want to return to their home, after they receive their visa, and put their affairs in order before they finally come to the US. Once you two work out the general plan, we will arrange the most economical, yet comfortable trip for your fiancé.

If your fiancé lives in small town, she will first need to travel by train to a major city and from there take a flight to Moscow. If her small town is within a days travel by train, it may be easier for her to take a long distance train to Moscow. The city is well served by trains and has many train stations, as described in the Moscow Train Stations.

She will have to make the train arrangements herself, to the city that we recommend. You will reimburse her for the train fare when you meet. It is very important that you notify us of her train arrival details in Moscow – time, train number, and Station.

Continuing to the USA

We suggest that that your fiancé plan on leaving Moscow for the US soon after her interview. If the interview passes well, then she will have the necessary paperwork to travel directly to the US. The benefits of this scheme are that you two will get to see each other with the least delay, and it is the most cost effective for you. Such a plan also means that she must be packed for the full trip to the US once she leaves her home. Many fiancés cannot put all these arrangements together in one step, especially if they have children. Their plans include a return home to close their affairs, allowing them to travel at a later time directly to the US.

The new Aeroflot flies Boeing aircraft and offers good service to New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Seattle. Depending on the time of year and availability, we may also use Finnair, Lufthansa German Airlines and KLM Royal Dutch airlines on these routes. We consider the price and the flight schedule and stopovers in our recommendations to you. Airline flight plans may necessitate an overnight stopover in Europe, which may require a transit visa (that could be problematic to obtain) as well as a hotel room and transfers. Airline schedules, prices, availability, and immigration rules change frequently. We will advise you about these issues as required, and as circumstances change.

      1.  Please book at least 10 days in advance. For bookings received less than 7 days prior to arrival in Moscow hotel rooms cannot be guaranteed at this price, and additional fee of $50.00 will apply.

      2.  If you made your own arrangements, then please advise Encore Travel of the dates, times, flight, train, and train car # of your fiancee arrival in Warsaw in order to arrange a timely meeting service and transfer to the hotel
